| Practical Tips |
Snacks These are provided by parents and shared between the children. Most parents bring in a contribution once or twice a week. Popular options include fresh fruit, raisins and breadsticks, though the occasional treat is good too! |
Drinks Pre-school will provide water or milk for children, but if you prefer, you can bring in a drink for your child, in a clearly labelled bottle. |
School Bags On starting pre-school your child will be given a plastic ‘school bag’ which should be brought in each session. These are used to put in artwork, letters etc. |
Pegs When they come into pre-school, children are encouraged to find their name tag and put it in the pot inside. Coats, boots, extra bags etc can be left in the porch area, which is locked during pre-school sessions. |
Wellies In the autumn and winter, please bring in wellies for your child, ensuring that both boots and bags are clearly labelled. |
Sunscreen and Hats In summer, please ensure that you apply sunscreen to your child before they come into pre-school, and that they have a hat (again, clearly labelled) to protect their heads! |
Spare clothes Pre-school do have a supply of spare clothes for emergencies, but you may wish to provide your own if needed. |
Playdough
This is made by parents on a rota basis about once a term. See recipe later on! Please bring in Monday for the week ahead.

Interest table
Children are encouraged to bring in items so that they can talk about it during the session. This promotes confidence and self-esteem by talking within a group. |
